On December 8, 2017, tonton threw the #RatedXtra party which housed more than 300 guests in Main Room, Zouk. The dazzling event saw A-List celebrities such as Dato’ Seri Vida, Ayda Jebat, JinnyboyTV, The Ming Thing and more.

The star-studded event was hosted by Fly FM’s Hafiz Hatim and Zooey of Pop Bytes while tonton’s very own General Manager Ben Jern Loh shared some juicy messages regarding tonton’s direction in 2018.

2. You can now watch tonton on your TVs

Before this, tonton could only be accessed via computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones only. Now, to allow for a more comfortable viewing experience, tonton is finally available on smart TVs.

In addition, tonton will be introducing their own Android OTT Box app which will be made compatible with major android boxes and Smart TVs.

These amazing features will be available on January 2018 onwards, so keep an eye out, yeah!

 

3. The next social media platform

Watching shows by ourselves can get pretty lonely after a while. Yes, we do get to enjoy our favourite dramas but completely cutting out social interaction can get super unhealthy, especially when we’re binge watching.

tonton decided to team up with Camment to turn the website into a more sociable one. Users will be able to interact with other users!

To advocate the 1Malaysia spirit, tonton is partnering with dimsum and Eros Now to bring more Chinese and Indian related content to viewers.

Eros Now will bring us more Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chobra, Amitabh Bachchan, etc.

Plus, thanks to dimsum’s additional shows from other oriental countries such as Thailand and South Korea, viewers can also enjoy the truly Asian part of “Malaysia truly Asia”.
