Without a doubt, Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds is a movie filled with amazing tear-jerking, nail-biting, eye-widening scenes. Perhaps it is a dabble with the fantasy realm that has got so many people hooked, or maybe it is the wonderful acting of the A-list cast.
Regardless, this movie didn’t become 2017’s 2nd most watched movie in Korea for nothing. The dramatic movie was released in South Korean theatres on December 20, 2017. By December 31, it reached over 8.5 million viewers!
Along with the Gods stars award-winning actors, Ha Jung Woo, Cha Tae Hyun, Ju Ji Hoon and Kim Hyang Gi. We can definitely see a bundle of great acting within the 2-hour film for sure.
Best of all, the main cast is also supported by more fantastic actors and actresses such as Lee Jun Jae, Kim Dong Wook, and Do Myung Soo (a.k.a D.O of EXO).
Here’s a look into what the storyline is roughly like. Warning: there may be some spoilers.
Firefighter Ja Hong (Cha Tae Hyun) unexpectedly dies and is sent down to hell for his afterlife trial. Gang Rim (Ha Jung Woo) is a grim reaper who escorts Ja Hong around the 7 levels of hell.
Ja Hong will be trialled for the quality of his life which he has lived. If he did well in his life, he will be allowed to reincarnate. Otherwise…GG lah, he has to suffer in hell.
Thankfully, he has the help of Gang Rim, Haewonmak (Ju Ji Hoon) and Dukchun (Kim Hyang Gi) to go through this ordeal.
Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds is the first part of the series. This story is actually based on a webcomic by Joo Ho Min. The second part, Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days, will be released in the summer of this year.
