Preach! We stan!
This year’s Best Film at the Golden Globes was crowned to a Korean film that dominantly delivered to the viewers in its native language. Collecting an astonishing success of $23 million gross in the United States alone, ‘Parasite’ had claimed the prize for foreign-language film.
Taking this golden opportunity to reach out to viewers around the globe, director Bong Joon Ho delivered one of the most powerful messages we’ve ever heard and it really meant deep!
“Once you overcome the 1-inch tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films”.
— Bong Joon Ho, director of ‘Parasite’.
After his one liner that called out the American moviegoing public’s perceived aversion to subtitles, the hall immediately came to a roar of cheers and applause, proving his message was delivered effectively.
His message has only only touched the hearts of the viewers but also became a viral content that had been roaming around the Internet ever since the video was uploaded online!
