After splurging on pricey jewellery, obviously you’d want to make sure that they are long-lasting and can be worn for many times.
Pearls are one of the beautiful and classic accessories that can cost an arm and leg. And one way to extend their life cycle is to give it a proper care which is by keeping them clean.
But there is such a thing as cleaning them too often, so you need to know when or when not to take out your cleaning supplies, and how much cleaning you should do.
Need some help? Refer to the guide below.
1. Wipe after each time you wear it
This is a must. Use a lint-free cloth and wipe each pearl to rub off any dirt or oil building.
2. If your pearls seem dirty, prepare soap water
Use mild dish soap and dilute it in lukewarm water. (Note: Don’t ever dip the pearl into the solution)
3. Dampen a lint-free cloth using the solution
Remember, don’t soak it till it is dripping wet.
4. Wipe the pearl
Gently clean the pearl with the dampened cloth.
5. Lightly rinse
After wiping your pearls clean, rinse off the soap residue with lukewarm water. But be careful! Make sure to not leave the pearls under water for too long.
6. Pat dry
Important! Before keeping your pearls away, make sure they are completely dry. Use a dry and fresh lint-free cloth.
If it is still damp, allow the pearls to air-dry for a few minutes.
Keep them clean!
