Fans were truly excited when news of BTS being invited to be a part of a Michael Jackson tribute project broke out.
Jerry Greenberg, the former CEO of MJJ Music which was the late Michael’s record label, uploaded a teaser for the project on 7SIX9 Entertainment’s YouTube Channel. He is currently the chairman of this new company in South Korea.
7SIX9 Entertainment invited BTS to participate in making a tribute song. However, the boy band had to decline the offer due to conflict in schedule.
Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’ label, stated,
“BTS received an invitation to take part in Michael Jackson’s tribute song. It has been a great honour to receive such an invitation.
“Unfortunately, BTS has an album releasing soon and also a world tour starting soon. Because of such conflicts in the schedule, it won’t be possible for the group to participate.”
Surprisingly, fans were more relieved than upset about this. Apparently, fans noticed that this brand new company might just be using big-name artists to pull into their project to make a quick buck.
Fans are truly supportive of Big Hit Entertainment’s decision instead.
