A month ago, popular actress Maya Karin uploaded a photo of herself dipping her head in a cool stream.
This Instagam photo, captioned “clean rivers, #mayalovesnature” has been a hit with Netizens.
Since then, more than 100 of them have uploaded their own versions of it.
The 39-year-old star of Munafik 2 has been surprised with her photo’s popularity, and wholeheartedly welcomes her followers’ endorsement of it.
She has described their replication of her “cool dip” as a sign that Malaysians are increasingly becoming environment-conscious and are beginning to care for their rivers.
Yesterday, she uploaded 17 of her fans’ photos on Instagram, captioned #riverchallenge and #riveroflife.
“What an awesome response on Twitter over the last two days. So funny, just can’t upload all, nanti orang irritated pula. Who else wants to join?” wrote Maya.
The photo collection generated more than 100 responses from Netizens, who expressed their willingness to take similar photos of themselves.
Many of them praised and thanked Maya for her environmental activism and campaigns for clean rivers over the last decade.
“Lovely, Maya. It’s a really cool photo, and I’m going to do one for myself soon,” said Reyhan.
“Ala bestnya!” said Dol.
“Just love the look on their faces and yours. Enjoying the refreshing cool stream water. We must love our rivers more,” said Aina.
