For skipping breakfast, this woman developed more than 2,000 gallstones!

We’ve been told time and time again that it is the most important meal of the day. But how many of us really make time for breakfast? Or rather, how many of us have time for it?

Nevertheless, no matter how busy or lazy you are, you have to have some breakfast.

A 39-year-old woman from Guizhou, China, whose surname is Wang, learned it the hard way when she experienced severe pain in her abdomen.

Six years before that, she was diagnosed with stomach ulcer, so she had become used to the occasional bouts of discomfort that were treated with ulcer medicine.

However, the pain she felt recently was unlike anything that she was used to experiencing. Since it wouldn’t recede, she was rushed to the hospital where doctors found stones in her gallbladder.

That clearly wasn’t something unusual in medical history. What shocked the doctors were the number of gallstones they found from Wang’s laparoscopic surgery: more than 2,000!

That’s not usual at all! The biggest stone measured about 1cm in diameter while the smallest one measure about 0.2cm in diameter.

There is a plethora of reasons that could cause gallstones. But in Wang’s case, the doctors deduced that it was because of her unhealthy habit of skipping breakfast.

It turned out that Wang is unemployed so she would always wake up late, which led her to skip the most important meal of the day.

Furthermore, she also likes to eat spicy and oily food, as well as animals’ internal organs, but she doesn’t like to drink water. Aah, that’s a huge mistake there.

Doctors said this isn’t the first time that an individual can develop so many gallstones, but perhaps some of us didn’t even know that this dietary habit could lead to this health problem.

According to NZ Herald, the doctors said if you take your meals regularly, you’ll reduce the amount of bile in your body. Your healthy diet can help to reduce the risk of gallstones forming as well.

Remember, people! Stay healthy, eat regularly and drink lots of water!
