SISTAR is an amazing Korean girl group known best for their sexy and cute concepts. Throughout every song, they bring out a type of classy sensuality that definitely does not fall anywhere near ‘cheap’.
They’re also one of the few initial girl groups who brought on the wave of respect and love towards Korean girl groups along with Girl’s Generation, Wonder Girls, 2ne1 and more.
Unfortunately for fans, the quartet – Hyorin (a.k.a Hyolyn), Bora, Soyou and Dasom – decided to go their separate ways in 2017.
Now, almost a year later, Hyorin revealed the real reason why SISTAR disbanded.
At first, many people argued that there were some sort of scandal going on between the ladies and the label, Starship Entertainment. Rumours were spreading like crazy.
However, on February 1, 2018, Hyorin told High Cut that their reasons weren’t as selfish as people originally thought.
She said,
“I can’t say ‘I wanted to leave because there are so many things I want to do!’. I’m aware that a person can’t only do the things they want to do.
“After debuting, I worked and promoted not for myself or others but rather only for SISTAR for 7 years.
“Because of that, I started to have worries of my life as both Hyorin and Kim Hyo Jung (Hyorin’s birth name).”
“It was the same worries that not only I had, but also the rest of the members had as well.
“After thinking carefully, we decided that since we worked very hard for the past 7 years, we would remain good friends, and live our lives in our own ways and continue to support one another.”
Indeed, each of the former SISTAR members have maintained a wonderful friendship together and are doing well with their solo activities.
Hyorin and Soyou are concentrating more on their music career. The former will be releasing her solo album soon titled ‘#1 To Do List‘.
Meanwhile, Soyou has continued to release original soundtracks for TV shows and she even released an EP called RE:BORN.
As for Bora and Dasom, the duo ventured into the acting world as they both continuously land roles after roles.
So, it isn’t so bad that SISTAR disbanded after all, right? They are still very good friends even though they’ve went onto different career paths.
Let us continue to support them throughout their individual works.
