‘Jalan-Jalan Makan Angin’ Brings Hokkaido to Malaysia’s Screens

A tri-party co-production between Hokkaido Cultural Broadcasting Corporation Ltd (UHB), Primeworks Studios and Kantana Japan brings Malaysian audience a 4-episodes series of ‘Jalan-Jalan Makan Angin’ (JJMA) in Hokkaido!

JJMA is a travelogue programme where the hosts, Atu Zero and Akhmal Nazri scout for unique travel destinations, the best foods, activities and tourist spots to recommend a holiday itinerary like no other.

To commemorate this partnership, a very special announcement was held at Japan Expo Malaysia in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur on July 26th. Attending the event was Mr. Hideto Nakajima (Economic Counsellor, Embassy of Japan), Mr. Jun Oikawa (Senior Executive Managing Director of UHB), Ahmad Izham Omar (CEO of Primeworks Studios) and Mr. Hiroaki Takenaka (Executive Producer, Kantan Japan).


JJMA will highlight Hokkaido in a storytelling fashion which is appealing to both Malaysia and Japanese audiences alike; with the hope in bringing a little bit of Hokkaido to Malaysian living rooms and ultimately bring Malaysians to experience Hokkaido first-hand.

The 4 episodes will cover the prefectures of Hokadate, Niseko, Tokachi and Sapporo where the comedian Atu Zero and Akhmal Nazri whose famous for his role as ‘Jibam’ on ‘Oh My English’, not only immerse themselves in the Japanese culture but also encounter Malaysians living in Japan.

JJMA airs every Sunday at 11.30am on TV3 and is also available for catch-up on www.tonton.com.my. Episodes featuring Hokkaido began on the 21st of July and will continue will 11th August, 2019.
