BENTO EXPO: A Variety of Bento Recipes from Across the World

A Bento is a Japanese-style packed lunch with main ingredients of rich or noodles, fish or meat, with pickled and cooked vegetables served in a box. 

It is the ultimate lunch box; take away or served at home, it is best both ways. 

The beauty behind making a bento is that we can get really creative with the food decoration and the choice of ingredients.

Bento connects the world! And makes eating a fun experience. 

NHK World Japan brings you the BENTO EXPO, The Global Lunchbox Project. 

The show lets you discover a universe of bento from Japan and around the world, with step-by-step instructions and delicious tips and tricks!

Not only that, but bento fans from all over the world also send in submissions of their creations of bentos to be shared with everyone else. 

We can see many easy and fulfilling bento preparations fit to provide us with a happy tummy from this show. 

Hosted by Marc Matsumoto and Maki Ogawa, the two really makes us feel engaged and excited for the bentos. 

Marc Matsumoto is a private chef born in Japan, and raised in between the US and Australia. He believes that by making wholesome delicious food accessible to people of all backgrounds, the world becomes a better place! 

Whereas Maki Ogawa shares many amazing bento recipes inspired when making them for her two sons. Fans really love her delicious, easy-to-make, kawaii bento ideas!

BENTO EXPO will be airing on every Monday, 15 April at 16:30, 22:30 and on every Tuesday, 14 April at 5:30.
