It seems like 2018 might be pretty a pretty grim year too as the grim reaper goes on to claim more lives of beloved celebrities. This time, it is none other than the amazing vocalist of The Cranberries, Dolores O’Riordan.
Most famed for their hit song released in 1994, Zombie, this amazing band sadly lost their great singer in London on January 15, 2018, at the age of 46.
According to Channel News Asia, the late Dolores’ publicist, Lindsey Holmes, made the official announcement.
She said,
“Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today, family members are devastated.
“The lead singer was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time.”
The press also interviewed London’s Metropolitan spokesperson over the incident which happened at London Hilton on Park Lane at around 9.05am, local time.
The lady did not reveal the deceased’s identity but said,
“A woman in her mid-40s was pronounced dead at the scene. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained and enquiries continue.”
The London Hilton also confirmed that they indeed had a guest who sadly passed away but also kept the identity private.

They said,
“Team members acted swiftly to alert the Metropolitan Police and we are co-operating fully with their investigation.”
Dolores’ body will be flown back to Ireland and be buried in her hometown. James Walton is the priest at Ballybricken and Bohermore parish where her body will be laid to rest.
He told the press,
“Her family are still waiting for more details to come from London about her death. The plan is for her to be buried here at home.
“When that will be will depend on when her body is released.”

Apparently, Dolores has been suffering physically and mentally for a while now.
In 2014, she had apparently assaulted three police officers and a flight attendant during a flight from New York to Ireland. After that incident, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Then, in 2017, The Cranberries had to cancel 14 concerts as she was apparently suffering from back problems.
