Star Trek fans, this one’s for you. Star Trek: Discovery will premiere its second season in January and and it will see the return of our very-own Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh

In Season 1, the Ipoh-born artiste starred as Philippa Georgiou, the captain of the U.S.S. Shenzou and mentor to Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin -Green).

According to a news report by The Hollywood Reporter, the new season would see Yeoh’s character undergo her own metamorphosis.

Her character transfers from the mirror universe, and is recruited into the secretive Section 31, a mysterious Starfleet operation.

“Not everybody knows that I was from the mirror universe, so sometimes I get to play the good caption: Compassionate, kind. And then with Georgiou from Section 31, she’s manipulative, dangerous,” said The Crazy Rich Asians star in the news report.

Yeoh, 56, had fans excited about her return to the show when she uploaded a photo of herself clad in her character’s costume, with the caption “Section 31”.

It didn’t take long for fans and followers to leave their comments with “Omg”, as their expressed their excitement over this great news.

Yeoh also shared a clip from a segment featured at the New York Comic Con, which she also participated in.

She captioned the video with: “What an amazing privilege to be on stage with this amazing Star Trek family. And love and THANK YOU to the fans!! Ur love and support keeps wanting me to do better everyday for you!!”
