Apparently for the New Year, Malaysians are going local as Kuala Lumpur is the most-top destination chosen to celebrate the New Year—making the capital city locals’ number one choice for the fourth year running.

Aside from Malaysia, Taipei is the second most popular destination—followed by Bangkok and Tokyo!

Besides Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Penang, Langkawi, Genting, Kota Kinabalu and Malacca are the locals’ favourites when celebrating the start of the new decade without having to be far from home.

Meanwhile, as for travel destination; homeland Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia remain as the top three countries for travel among Malaysians.
