Malaysia’s Hip-Hop Kings Festival is back for another year and is bringing out Malaysia’s hottest rap artists to celebrate its second year.
Last year (2017), Boston rappers, N.B.S. (Natural Born Spitters) together with Jackson Turner from New York, supported by local rappers, Jin Hackman, Ashtin, Coex, Scalia and Kenn Flamez of SICK took the stage at PlaySpace in KL and then Soundmaker Studio in Penang.
While last year’s lineup focused on international talents from America, this year the spotlight is on our local rap stars.
Check out the lineup; Lawalah Familia, MAS1A from Canada/Singapore, R&B singer Nadhira, Singaporean crew Void Deck Fellas, rising new school rapper FK Blunt and the Penang duo Ritmalaya.
Lawalah Familia released the Lawalah Vets EP in June 2018, which contains 5 songs. Lawalah Vets is an international collaboration project with American rap duo N.B.S. (Natural Born Spitters).
An event hosted by Goldensound Studio, essentially a music production studio led by Ian Koren who has worked with artistes like Ning Baizura, Lawalah Familia, Throne Away and his own project, Reckless Escapades.
