The Magistrate’s Court has sentenced actor and director Dato’ Farid Kamil Zahari to 9 months imprisonment after he was found guilty for using Tetra Hydrocannibol (THC), a type of marijuana, last year.
Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham sentenced 38-year-old Farid Kamil whom remained in silence when he was supposed to appear in front of the judge to defend himself.
Nor Ariffin has instructed that the accused be under the surveillance of the Agensi Antidadah Kebangsaan (AADK) for 2 years.
He said,
“The court finds the prosecuting team was able to prove the case beyond doubt and the court has convicted the accused guilty.”
During the proceeding, the court also did not allow the the defence’s application for suspension of sentencing.
Henceforth, Farid Kamil will be brought to Kajang Prison and he will start serving his sentence beginning today.
