Neelofa Tells People to Buy Original Designer Items Instead of Fakes

Following last week’s controversy which saw some celebrities ‘busted’ for using fake designer brands, popular TV host and entrepreneur Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor has expressed her disappointment with some consumers who create the demand for imitation and fake products.

The 29-year-old who sells headscarves under the popular label Naelofar Hijab is also not spared from having her hijab collection copied and sold by irresponsible parties.

“What’s even more frustrating is that each original Naelofar Hijab piece is sold at an affordable price of less than RM100,” she said in a news report yesterday.

Neelofa said that people need to motivate themselves if they aim to own a designer item.

“Work harder so that one day we can buy the designer item and not turn to buying fakes,” she said.

Last week, an Instagram account with the name @streetwearbustamy outed some local celebrities for wearing knock-offs.

Some who were ‘busted’ for using imitations are Emma Maembong, Haqiem Rusli, Fathia Latiff and Janna Nick.
