South Korea’s All-Rounded Superstar Turns into a Pro Gamer

We all know Jung Joon Young as a radio MC, actor and host. But did anyone know that he is actually a professional e-gamer now?

According to Kotaku, Joon Young recently signed into Kongdoo Company, an e-sports corporations founded by retired StarCraft legend Hong “YellOw” Jin Ho.

He joined the PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) team called Kongdoo Reddot. PUBG is a multiplayer third-person shooting game.

It is also a surviving-type game where the player must collect loot to build a proper itinerary and eliminate all other players.

Joon Young has been a gamer for a long time as playing games has always been his hobby.

Of course the celebrity wasn’t chosen over some publicity stunt. He was added into the team thanks to his remarkable gaming abilities and understanding for the game.

He also comment on his own gaming skills:

“I know there is a big difference between simply enjoying the game and playing as a pro,

“Now that I am part of a pro team, I will do my best to blend in with the existing Kongdoo members and become a player to contribute to the team.”

Joon Young is a singer-songwriter, radio DJ, host, actor and television personality. He made his entertainment debut through Superstar K4, a singing competition, where he came in third place.

Since then, he has gained recognition throughout the South Korean entertainment industry. He then took part in KBS’s variety show 2 Days & 1 Night Season 3 and became the youngest person to join the full-time cast.

We definitely look forward to more of Joon Young’s impressive results in both his gaming and entertainment careers!
