#MYCYBERSALE to Take Place Again, 5 Years in a Row

Online sale event, #MYCYBERSALE is entering its fifth instalment this year with the theme ‘Driving growth though omni channel commerce’. Slotted to be held from September 3 to 7, 2018, the sale has a targeted gross merchandise value (GMV) of RM370 million and export revenue of RM50 million.

Organised by National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM), the five-day sale has already registered 600 merchants since the soft launch on July 10, 2018. The association is targeting a participation of 1,200 merchants with at least 50 per cent of them expected to be exporters.

“MYCYBERSALE 2018 aims to encourage micro-enterprises to adopt an omnichannel approach for their businesses to reduce dependency on social media private messaging sales,” said PIKOM chairman, Ganesh Kumar Bangah.

First held in 2014, the online sale event registered a GMV of RM67 million while the number rose to RM117.7 million the year after and RM211 million in 2016. Last year, the event featured 1,007 merchants who generated a GMV of RM311 million. GMV is defined as the total revenue generated during the five-day sales period before taking into account discounts.

“MYCYBERSALE offers a great platform for microenterprises to start building their brand and customer base in Malaysia and beyond,” said MDEC chief operating officer Datuk Ng Wan Peng.

This year’s Pinnacle Partners for the event are Commerce.Asia, Mastercard and Fusionnex while SAP Malaysia, Shippop, CapFiX, y5xone Malaysia, Mobiversa and Shopback are Premier Partners. iPay88 is a Gold Partner while Silver Partners include SF Express, eGHL, LWE and World First.

Merchants are welcomed to join this online event by registering at www.mycybersale.my for free.
