Red Velvet Fans Can Now Talk to and Live With Wendy!

Technology today has become so much more advanced than anything else we’ve had before. It is so advanced that we have tech that can think for itself!

Artificial Intelligence, or AI for short, has been integrated into our everyday life devices such as phones, TVs, and even car audio systems.

We can simply use our voice to ‘wake’ them up and then command them to do as we wish. For example, telephoning a person, sending a text message or even perform online searches.

Various platforms have got their own version of the AI assistant too. For example, Apple uses Siri, Samsung uses Bixby or Galaxy, and Google uses Google Home.

Now, Sunkyong Telecom, or better known as SK Telecom has partnered with SM Entertainment to create their own AI assistant called the HOLOBOX featuring Red Velvet’s Wendy, Koreaboo reported.

Not only will users be able to hear and interact with Wendy’s voice, we can also see a holographic display of her!

Like most AI assistants, we can ask her questions, have her perform simple tasks or even just talk to her.

The HOLOBOX is its own device and does not come fixed in any other technology. However, it can do things such as turning on the lights, air-conditioning unit or TV.

The gadget is 14 inches tall and 6.7 inches wide, so it won’t take up too much space in our home at all.

Amazingly, previous HOLOBOX characters were all of fictional characters. So, Wendy is actually the very first real person.

No worries though, because they have made sure that Wendy will look as realistic as possible. Both SK Telecom and SM Entertainment have ensured that Wendy’s movements seem completely natural and even added more than 100 facials expressions.

Therefore, your interactive experience with her will seem almost completely life-life.

Plus, if this project goes well, the entertainment company will add more idols into the mix, such as Girl’s Generation members, EXO members and more.

Unfortunately, the device is not on sale YET, but there will be a demonstration taking place at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona today (February 26th).

Perhaps both the retail release date and the price will be announced during the event. Let’s look forward to it.
