8 Things You Need To Know About The New Biopic Movie Mahathir: The Journey

You probably didn’t know this but there will be a new movie about our beloved Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir

Yeah, we are pretty sure of that because the movie will be released in July 2020..

If you’re curious, here’s what you need to know about the new movie called Mahathir: The Journey..

1. The movie is a biopic movie about his struggles throughout his remarkable 16 years journey from the moment he stepped down as prime minister to the time he finally get re-elected as the prime minister, at the age of 93 years old.

2. This movie will be directed by Prof Mohammad Hatta Azad Khan and Chan Wai Cheong, Dr Lawrence Poh as his executive producer and the famous Yusof Kelana as creative producer.

3. The 90 minutes movie will featured 29 prominent political figures in Malaysia.

4. Stellar line up casts are  Azhar Azmir (Tun Mahathir), Fauziah Latiff (Tun Hasmah), Hilal Azman (Anwar Ibrahim), Izzat Mustaq (Syed Saddiq), Afieq Hussain (DS Mukhriz Mahathir), Muhamad Harminder Singh (Gobind Singh Deo), Dian P Ramlee (DS Wan Azizah) and Lisdawati (Nurul Izzah).

 

5. Mahathir: The Journey will reveal the new side of Tun M that most people didn’t know about. It depicts the real events and journey of Malaysia’s political history, this movie is an untold story of Tun M’s achievements in his shortest period of time.

 

6. This biopic movie is inspired by true events that took place after Tun M’s resignation in 2003.

 

7. The shooting will take place in December 2019 around Kuala Lumpur, Kelantan, Langkawi, Alor Setar, Pulau Pinang and Hiroshima, Japan.

8. Mahathir: The Journey will touch the love story between Tun M and Tun Siti Hasmah, her undying support and love for his husband even after 64 years old of marriage life.
