Ramadan will be coming around very soon, and this year as part of the Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) and the Grand Bazaar Ramadan Raya 2019 (GBRR), the largest Ramadan Bazaars will be held in Bukit Jalil and Shah Alam.
An inking of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between TV3 and Build Up Resources Sdn Bhd (BUR) took place yesterday to organise KJH and GBRR.
The GBBR bazaars will be held from 4th May to 2nd June in Shah Alam whereas the bazaars in Bukit Jalil will be held from 16th May to 4th June.
An estimated amount of 500,000 visitors are expected to come for each bazaar. This is set to be the largest (combined) festival market to be held in an open space in the country.
At the MoU signing ceremony, TV3 was represented by Media Prima Television Networks Chief Executive Officer, Johan Ishak, while BUR was represented by its chairman, Datuk Mohd Azizan Che Omar.
The Entrepreneur Development Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof, was also present to witness the cooperation.
Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof said,
“The GBRR 2019 aims to enter The Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) as the largest bazaar.
“We are looking to be featured in the MBR for the sale of the longest lemang in history, and the proceeds of the sale of this lengthy Raya delicacy will be channelled to TV3’s Tabung Bersamamu (for the less fortunate).
“Another highlight of the programme is the breaking of fast with orphans.”
Johan mentioned that the bazaars would operate from 3pm to midnight on weekdays and 11am to midnight on weekends and public holidays. He also added that there would be 436 booths in Bukit Jalil and 134 booths in Shah Alam.
In addition, the bazaars would help small scale traders and small, and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur to market their services and products to the public.
All brands and vendors are welcomed to sell their products, including clothing, accessories, health and beauty products, electrical appliances, furniture, phone accessories, and food and beverages.
A KJH will be held on the 27th and 28th April at Bulatan Bazarena in Shah Alam.
In encouraging more platforms for entrepreneurs to sell their products, Redzuan urged more companies to follow in the footsteps of TV3 and BUR. He also asked them to organise such programmes for budding entrepreneur in rural areas.
