Sometimes it is important to watch our words, especially when we have a large audience following our every word. But it seems like Sharifah Sakinah has yet to apologise for her crude reference of Kim Jonghyun.
The internet has been in an uproar ever since the actress posted an Instagram Story of her rude comment about the deceased and featured Janna Nick.
The two actresses were in a saloon where Janna, who also acted as the lead of Malaysia’s version of My Coffee Prince, was getting her hair done.
It seems like Janna had bleached her hair into an ashy blonde colour and Sharifah was comparing how Janna looked a lot like Jonghyun.
The infuriating part was when Sharifah added
“This is the dead one, right?”
Janna laughed along with Sharifah at this comment.
Though the Instastory was only 8 seconds-long, it was enough to piss people off, particularly the KPOP community in Malaysia.
Many people stated how disrespectful and distasteful Sharifah’s joke was and started slamming them.
However, not long after the controversy went viral, Janna immediately stepped forward and apologised through her Twitter account.
She wrote,
“To all KPOP fans, I would like to apologise early this morning for laughing about death in Sakinah’s IG Story.
“Kinah said ‘this is the dead one’, I didn’t know whom she was referring to.
“If you all were hurt by that, I’m so sorry. I was not focusing or taking Sakinah’s words seriously. Again, sorry.”
After her apology, fans were quite alright with Janna, but there seems to be no word of apology from Sharifah at all, so far.
