Before Despacito came along, this was the hottest Español song where everyone would jive to. However, Bailando is still much loved by everyone.

Taylor is best known for her breakup songs such as Blank Space, Back To December, I Knew You Were Trouble, etc. However, Shake It Off is quite different from her usual sad songs as its lyrics are all about brushing those haters away.

The young lady shot to fame at the tender age of 16 and paparazzi has been following her around like a hawk since. Though she garnered a great following, she also unfortunately caught the attention of haters.

What could be better on our wedding day than to have our favourite band pop up for a surprise performance? Though Maroon 5 has received a lot of scepticism on the authenticity of their MV, many people still loved the fairy tale-like clip.

 

6. Sorry by Justin Bieber – 2.89 billion views

Justin used to hold the top spot with his music video Baby which was a viral sensation after its release back in 2010. Most of his songs after that constantly received tremendous amounts of views.

Currently, his track Sorry from 2015 has been replayed over and over again due to its fun beat and meaningful lyrics.

 

5. Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars – 2.96 billion views

Many people think that Uptown Funk is Bruno’s song but it actually ‘belongs’ to Mark”s album called Uptown Special.

This duo has worked together many times where Mark helped to produce songs from Bruno’s 2012 album called Unorthodox Jukebox. Hit songs from this album are Locked Out of Heaven and Gorilla.

This funky song has got people belting it out while dancing along to the simple choreography nonstop.

 

4. Gangnam Style by Psy – 3.10 billion views

Psy is the ONLY South Korean artist to have made it into the Top 100 Most Watched YouTube Videos of all time. His two songs Gangnam Style and Gentleman have hit billions of views thanks to its comedic music videos.

Gangnam Style, the song which shot Psy into international fame, features some of South Korea’s most popular celebrities such as Yoo Jaesuk, Noh Hongchul, Hyuna and even Big Bang’s Daesung and Seungri.

The language is very much foreign to the rest of the world and non-KPOP fans but this didn’t stop the whole world from enjoying the track.

 

3. Shape of You by Ed Sheeran – 3.27 billion views

Ed’s love songs are truly magnetic! No matter how many times we hit that replay button, it is almost impossible to get sick of his songs as they are truly soul-captivating.

The music video was released on YouTube on January 30, 2017 and just 97 days later, it reached 1 billion views – making it the fastest video to reach the billion mark!

 

2. See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth – 3.41 billion views

This rap and ballad rendition is probably the most heartbreaking song on the list. It was released as the soundtrack for the 2015 action film Furious 7.

It encompasses a farewell message to the late Paul Walker who starred in the Fast and Furious franchise. Paul passed away abruptly at the age of 40 in November 2013 after the car he was in crashed and burned.

The actor’s sudden death impacted the whole world greatly, especially towards his family, friends and the Fast and Furious franchise cast.

 

1. Despacito by Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee – 4.85 billion views

Despacito is a latin song which has taken the world over by storm after its release in January 2017. The received great reception when Viners (people who post videos on the video app Vine) would feature beautiful girls dancing to the song.

The reception was positive but still moderate in international levels until Justin Bieber did an English remix in April the same year. After that, it was a rolling stone as Luis and Daddy Yankee continued to collaborate with other singers for different versions.

In fact, Luis even worked with Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin to create a Mandarin version!

Undoubtedly, Despacito has been on repeat around the world since its release.
