Just the other day, news broke that SHINee’s Minho was waiting for the results of his Marine Corps application to know when and where he will be enlisting.

Now, Allkpop has reported that Minho has indeed passed his application for the tougher branch of armed forces. On March 21st, the letter of acceptance arrived from the Military Manpower Administration.

As expected, he will be reporting to the Marine Corps Basic Training Centre in Pohang on April 15th.

Shawols, fans of SHINee, are super proud of him for being able to make it into the Marine Corps. They left comments such as:

“What a man he is! A very competitive dude going to the Marines. Looking forward to your return, Minho.”

“That’s hardcore. I have lots of respect for that.”

Meanwhile, INFITINE’s Sungyeol will also be enlisting but much earlier than expected.

Allkpop also wrote that a representative from Woollim Entertainment has confirmed the 28-year-old singer will be enlisting very soon, although the latter prefers it to be a private affair.

The representative told the press,

“Sungyeol is enlisting this March 26.

“Some time today, he plans on delivering the news personally to his fans with a message.

“Due to his own wishes, the time and location of Sungyeol’s enlistment will be kept private. Only his friends and close acquaintances will accompany him.”

He will be joining as an active duty soldier. On the other hand, fellow INFINITE member, Dongwoo, is also awaiting his enlistment which will take place in this spring.

Inspirits, the group’s fandom, are sad to see their idols leave the entertainment scene for about 2 years. Some fans wrote,

“Unfortunately, Infinite will be receiving similar news several times in the next few months. I’m sad already. I hope time goes by quickly.”
